Expanding Career Pathways in Energy Efficiency
The PREP Academy is thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with EffciencyOne, a leading organization dedicated to advancing energy efficiency and sustainability in Nova Scotia. This collaboration marks a pivotal step in creating meaningful opportunities for African Nova Scotian high school students to explore careers in the growing fields of energy efficiency and green building.
Through this partnership, EfficiencyOne will play a vital role in supporting PREP Academy’s Micro-Internship Program for 2025. This program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience, valuable mentorship, and now through the partnership with EfficiencyOne, insights into the positive impacts and career paths of energy-efficient practices. This will also give students the opportunity to make meaningful connections within the industry. EfficiencyOne’s commitment to guiding students toward sustainable career paths aligns perfectly with PREP Academy’s mission of inspiring and preparing African Nova Scotian youth for success in education and beyond.
The Power of Sustainable Mentorship
Mentorship will be at the forefront of this collaboration. EfficiencyOne’s team will amplify the PREP Academy’s call for Black mentors in the Clean Energy sector, offering students the chance to learn directly from industry professionals. These mentors will provide guidance on setting career goals, navigating opportunities, and gaining practical experience that will help students build a brighter future.
In addition to mentorship, students will have access to workshops and site tours, which will showcase the different possibilities within the energy efficiency industry. This partnership reflects a broader commitment to building sustainable communities by empowering the next generation to lead these efforts.
