Food and refreshments will be provided: sandwiches, wraps, veggie trays, etc. Household family members are welcome to attend, including younger siblings. Please indicate the number of people who will be attending from your family in your registration.

The PREP Academy and St. Francis Xavier University are excited to invite African Nova Scotian high school students, along with one parent or guardian to participate in a university campus tour!
Participants will be picked up from one of the pick-up locations and brought to St. FX by the university's coach bus! Students and parents/guardians will have the opportunity to spend the day touring campus, meeting faculty and current students, meeting with Black student supports on campus, and learning more about the opportunities at St.FX University. Lunch and transportation is provided. Unfortunately, because of this we are only able to bring a select number of students. This tour will be first come first serve.
An online interactive information session about selecting high school classes as a grade 9 student. Hosted by Malik Adams, High School Guidance Counsellor, learn about the classes students need in high school to be eligible for college and university, program entrance requirements and more!
This session is open to Indigenous African Nova Scotian grade 9 students, and their parents/guardians.
The PREP Academy will be hosting a free interactive scholarship preparation community workshop to show African Nova Scotian students, parents/guardians and family members how to prepare and apply for postsecondary scholarships and bursaries. If you are in high school or grade 9, this workshop is especially for you! Each student will receive a sample scholarship preparation package to take home.
The PREP Academy is hosting a community workshop in Truro! We will break down how to prepare for a scholarship application. In this Scholarship Preparation Workshop we will help students and parents understanding scholarships & bursaries, entrance scholarships, terms and definitions, eligibility criteria, application requirements and letters of recommendation.
Now is the time to prepare for scholarships. Each student who attends will receive a sample scholarship package to take home.

Student Success Coaches will visit Dartmouth High School every other Tuesday starting on October 18, 2022 - May 9, 2023 from 10am-3pm. PREP will host workshops and meeting one-on-one with students to offer in-person support.
