Black Canadian students and Indigenous students in Canada who are applying to enter the BJH, BA, BSc, or BMus programs at the University of King’s College are eligible to apply for this award, valued at $20,000 ($5,000 a year and renewable for up to three years). This award honours Dr. Carrie Best, the second black publisher in Nova Scotia as well as an accomplished writer and human rights activist.
Eligibility
- Black Canadian and Indigenous students in Canada are eligible.
- Students must have demonstrated academic excellence
- Have applied to an undergraduate program at the University of King's College
Submission and Application Details
An application form and submission of an original essay are required. The deadline to apply for this award is March 1st.
